About Us
Cambodia Tribunal Monitor is a consortium of academic, philanthropic, and non-profit organizations committed to providing public access to the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia and open discussion throughout the judicial process.
CTM was founded in 2007 by David Scheffer of the Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern University School of Law in collaboration with Youk Chhang of the Documentation Center of Cambodia. Startup funding was made possible with a grant from the J.B. and M.K. Pritzker Family Foundation.
CTM’s award-winning website, CambodiaTribunal.org, serves as the leading source of reports, commentaries, and legal analysis on the tribunal’s proceedings. Through this resource, CTM observes and documents the Khmer Rouge trials through daily Trial Observer reports when the court is in session, provides commentary and legal analysis on court proceedings and filings, and assembles news articles and reports on the ECCC to deliver comprehensive public access to the judicial process.
CambodiaTribunal.org has been presented with the following awards:
- 2011 Webby Honoree
- 2011 Silver Trumpet Winner – Publicity Club of Chicago
- 2010 Golden Trumpet Winner – Publicity Club of Chicago
